Which newsletter platform should I pick?

Answer five questions. We match you only against published plan prices and features from each vendor's pricing page, as checked on 2026-10-26. This is not a review and we have not hands-on tested these products.

Do you need paid subscriptions?
Do you need automated email sequences (for example a welcome series)?
What matters most?

How the scoring works

  1. For each platform we find the cheapest published plan that holds your list size and includes the features you ticked (paid subscriptions, automated sequences), using monthly billing.
  2. Any platform whose cheapest qualifying plan costs more than your budget is removed.
  3. Remaining platforms are sorted by price. If you chose a priority, the platform whose own positioning matches it (Kit for creators selling products; beehiiv or Ghost for publications) gets moved to the top as long as it is within budget.
  4. If nothing qualifies, you get an honest "none of these fit" result instead of a forced pick.

Feature flags come from each pricing page's plan table. Notes: Kit lists paid newsletters on its Free plan with a 3.5% + 30c transaction fee, and lists automated sequences only on paid plans. beehiiv lists paid subscriptions and automations from Lite up. Ghost(Pro) lists paid subscriptions from Publisher up and does not list automated email sequences on its pricing page, so we treat it as not included. MailerLite's pricing page lists paid newsletters but does not clearly say which plans include them, so we only count Comfort and Power. Annual billing is cheaper on all four; see the pricing study.
